WELCOME

The Brooklyn Lives Project is a borough-wide HIV/AIDS testing and education initiative that coincides with National Black AIDS Day.

You can contract HIV infection in three possible ways:

  1. Through sexual contact, either homosexual or heterosexual. Heterosexual contact is the leading means of HIV transmission.

  2. Through contact with blood or other body fluids, usually through needle sharing among drug users.

  3. Through transfer of the virus from an infected mother to her infant before or during birth, or through breast-feeding.
